Setting up a Digital Plant Twin in a power supply company
Together with IT service provider GISA, a digital image of the network infrastructure is created
MITNETZ STROM, a large distribution network operator in eastern Germany, is working with IT service provider GISA to develop a Digital Twin of its network infrastructure, which will be created from various data sources. One part that has already been implemented is a Digital Twin of the Falkenberg substation, which is available to all project participants on the basis of a VC Map. This concept provides a three-dimensional representation of the network and resources, which is helpful for planning, operation and asset management. The Digital Twin also enables quick access to factual information. MITNETZ STROM plans to capture all 300 substations and expand the Digital Twin by 2024, bringing the vision of a three-dimensional distribution network within reach. We are pleased that our software is contributing to a more efficient energy supply in Germany.
