13th German GeoForum 2025 in Berlin
On November 11–12, 2025, the 13th German GeoForum will take place under the theme “Geo-Resources – Potentials and Risks”, addressing key questions that will shape the future of geoinformation.
For many years, the German GeoForum, organized by the DDGI, has been one of the leading conferences in the geoinformation sector. This year, around 120 experts from government, politics, science, and industry will gather at the Representation of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg in Berlin to discuss pressing challenges and future perspectives.
At the heart of the program are issues surrounding the sustainable use of water, energy, food, and raw materials. The role of geodata, remote sensing, and digital tools in fostering sustainability, resilience, and participation will be explored through keynote lectures, workshops, and discussions.
Virtual City Systems will also be attending the two-day event. For us, the exchange on topics such as climate simulations and digital twins is particularly exciting, as these approaches provide valuable insights for sustainable urban planning and resilient infrastructure.
We look forward to engaging discussions and to the valuable impulses that the 13th German GeoForum will bring for the future of geoinformation, open data, and digital technologies.
